Henryk Gac

HENRYK GAC

Henryk Gac was born in 1958. He graduated from the Department of Theatre Studies at the Theatre Academy in Warsaw. From 1992 until 2015 he worked as Director of the Department of Exhibitions at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle. He currently works as Director of the Department of Exhibitions at the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko. From 1998 he collaborated with Magdalena Abakanowicz as a curator and production manager responsible for the selection of works and concepts of exhibitions organized in Poland and abroad. He has curated and produced exhibitions such as: “Magdalena Abakanowicz. Recent Works,” Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw 1998; “Magdalena Abakanowicz,” Galeria EL, Elbląg 2002; “Magdalena Abakanowicz. Presence,” Galeria u Jezuitów, Poznań 2002; “Magdalena Abakanowicz,” Sochy, Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, Bratislava 2004. He collaborated as a producer and assistant with exhibitions, i.e., “Me & More,” Kunstmuseum Luzern 2003 (group exhibition); “Magdalena Abakanowicz,” Hurma, Chapelle Saint - Louis de la Salpetriere Paris, 2004.
