This edition of the Journal starts off with two pivotal studies. The first by Kinney et al. represents an important consensus recommendation on the use of a controlled subdermal radio frequency thermistor for treating the aging neck. The second paper is a review of laser use in the treatment of skin cancer.
Subsequent laser studies include an evaluation on the use of a 595 nm pulsed dye laser for the treatment of genital angiokeratomas; Fractional carbon dioxide laser combined with topical tretinoin for the treatment of cystic acne and the effects of high-power-pulsed Nd:YAG laser irradiation on the release of transforming growth factor-beta and vascular endothelial growth factor.
Subsequent studies evaluate the use of glycolic acid peels for in disseminated facial verrucae, dose-controlled transcutaneous pneumatic injection of hypertonic glucose solution for the treatment of atrophic skin disorders and nano carriers for the delivery of skin cosmetics.
There clearly is something for every aesthetic physician.
Enjoy!
