Brigid Maher is lecturer in Italian studies at La Trobe University, Melbourne. Her research interests include the translation of contemporary literature, crime fiction, humour, and multimodal texts. She is the author of Recreation and Style: Translating Humorous Literature in Italian and English (2011), and co-editor of Words, Images and Performances in Translation (with Rita Wilson, 2012) and of Perspectives on Literature and Translation: Creation, Circulation, Reception (with Brian Nelson, 2013). She is editor of The AALITRA Review, a peer-reviewed journal of literary translation, and has translated novels by Milena Agus and Nicola Lagioia. Email: [email protected]
