Ian Johnson is reader in English and a member of the Institute of Mediaeval Studies at the University of St Andrews. He has interests in medieval literary theory and translation, Middle English devotional literature, Boethius, and Chaucer. He is founding general editor of The Mediaeval Journal and was for many years general editor of Forum for Modern Language Studies. His latest books are The Middle English Life of Christ: Academic Discourse, Translation and Vernacular Theology (2013) and The Pseudo-Bonaventuran Lives of Christ: Exploring the Middle English Tradition, edited with Allan Westphall (2013).
