The correct labels are as follows:

1 = Cooperative/passive

2 = Verbal

3 = Empty hand defensive

4 = Active aggression/weapons

The categories of the variable were incorrectly reported on page 451.

The correct descriptions are as follows:

Citizen’s resistance (cooperative/passive = 1 to active aggression/weapons = 4).

The findings of the variable were incorrectly reported on page 451.

The correct descriptions are as follows:

More than half of citizens (52.7%) used either empty hand active aggression or any weapons including firearms during their encounter with the police. Cooperative and passive resistances were only 6.6%.
