Dislocation x dans les cholesteriques: II. Modeles des dislocations x

Abstract

x DISLOCATIONS IN CHOLESTERIC LIQUID CRYSTALS

II. MODELS of x DISLOCATIONS

Models of x dislocations with continuous core in cholesteric liquid crystals are given. These models explain the properties of the x dislocations described in part I; in particular, the presence of singular points on the lines, the attractive coupling between two dislocations of the same sign and the repulsive coupling between two dislocations of opposite signs. Deformations of isolated lines and grouped lines are explained by the continuous nature of the cores.
