ABSTRACT
A major need for the industrial and commercial sectors of any country is the availability of reliable electricity. Different methods are being considered to supplant the current petrochemical-based approaches in practice, with a more sustainable bio-derived to increase the utilisation of natural waste. Therefore, there is a need to search for an alternate source of power generation that is cost-effective and eco-friendly. Microbial fuel cells (MFCs)from lignocellulosic biomass are considered to be clean, reliable, efficient, and emission-free that can be potent technology as an alternate source of power generation. This study provides an insight into the utilisation of different lignocellulosic biomass in MFCs for power generation.
