Rajeswari Sunder Rajan is Global Distinguished Professor of English at New York University. She is the author of The Scandal of the State: Women, Law and Citizenship in Postcolonial India (2003), and Real and Imagined Women: Gender, Culture and Postcolonialism (1993). Her most recent publication is the co-edited volume The Crisis of Secularism in India (2007)
