IJFE editor’s note 30(3)

ORCID Icon

This issue contains special article collections from two sources. The first is from the Joint Regional Meeting of IUFRO RG3.03.00 and RG3.06.00 held in 2017 and is entitled Productivity and Safety of Final Cutting on Mountain Forests. Yozo Yamada, Yasushi Suzuki and Raffaele Cavalli served as Guest Associate Editors for those manuscripts. The second source was from an open call for manuscripts that focused on The Role of Forest Operations in Climate Change Affected Forests. Janine Schweier served as the Guest Associate Editor for those manuscripts. The Guest Associate Editors have included an introduction to their collections.

One of our most important accomplishments this year was receiving our first-ever Impact Factor. Our rating of 1.462 would have placed us 36th out of 67 journals rated within the 2018 Forestry Journal Citation Reports. Down the road, this will help us attract submissions from a wider network of scientists, help librarians further justify subscribing to the journal, assist scientists seeking promotion, enhance our reputation, etc.

It takes a village of devoted individuals to produce IJFE. Staff at Taylor & Francis continue to provide excellent support assisting with the online submissions process, production, and managing the entire process. Natascia Magagnotti and Pierre Ackerman provide invaluable leadership and input as our Associate Editors. Our Editorial Board continues to provide great insight for improving the journal and its reach to others. Finally, the many individuals noted below have reviewed manuscripts during this calendar year. Thank you to everyone!
