Lisa Dicke

Lisa Dicke (Ph.D., University of Utah) is an assistant professor and has served as MPA program director in the department of political science at Texas Tech University. Before joining the faculty at Texas Tech in fall 2000, she was family and patient services director at the Alzheimer’s Association, Utah Chapter, with responsibilities for the development of statewide Alzheimer’s disease education and support programs. She is an active member of the American Society for Public Administration and the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action. Her work has appeared in numerous academic journals. Dicke teaches core public administration courses including public organization theory, public personnel management, nonprofit theory and management, and public private partnerships.

Sara Dowden

Sara Dowden (M.P.A., Texas Tech University) graduated in May 2003 and is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society. Her educational focus was in public and city management. She is an active member of the International City/County Management Association, the Texas City Management Association, and the Texas Municipal League, and she copresented a paper at the 2003 ASPA National Conference. Dowden works with the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission as coordinator for the Homeless Coalition of Southeast Texas, serving the tri-county region of Orange, Jefferson, and Hardin Counties.

Jodi Torres

Jodi Torres (B.S.W., Lubbock Christian University) is a student in the Master of Public Administration program at Texas Tech University. She is also a youth counselor for Catholic Family Services in Levelland, Texas, operating a satellite office, providing counseling to atrisk youth and their families, implementing outreach services, and mentoring and overseeing respite services for runaway and homeless youth in West Texas.
