Ragsdale and Brandau-Brown (this issue) claimed that only our Citation(Canary & Stafford) 1992 study “has anything to do with marital relationships” (p. 48).

Given positive associations between partners’ maintenance behaviors (e.g., average r = .35, in our 2006 data), positive correlations are likely in CitationRagsdale's (1996) data.
