ABSTRACT

Intention to revisit for a tourism destination is a crucial and important factor for strategic planning and business development, and is affected by a number of variables. Environment quality and Tourism Satisfaction affect the tourists’ impression of a tourism destination. In this study, we use a self-report questionnaire completed by 400 visitors to examine the impacts of environmental quality, perceived quality, and tourism satisfaction on revisiting intention for Alishan National Forest Recreation Area in central Taiwan. The results indicate that high environmental quality and high level perceived quality have a significant effect on revisiting intention. Moreover, the survey confirms the importance of central and local government’s actions to improve environmental quality, which in turn significantly affects perceived quality. These factors also affect tourism satisfaction, which, it is shown, relates positively to revisiting intention. In addition, the establishment of loyalty to the area correlates positively with the intention to revisit the Alishan Recreation Area and to recommend it to friends and relatives.
