Abstract
This discussion of Christogiorgios and Gianna Kopoulos’ fine case, “School Refusal and the Parent-Child Relationship: A Psychodynamic Perspective,” focuses on the young adolescent’s overall development during his emotional crisis. I pay particular attention to the patient, Peter’s, growth as a young man, his relationship to other males—including his father, and his anxious engagement with his peers. My purpose is to contextualize the clinical work within the larger fabric of Peter’s life.
