Abstract
This article reviews the current psychodynamic research on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), proposes a model of treatment that integrates ego psychological and object relations approaches, and raises questions regarding the role of empathy in ADHD. The article concludes with recommendations for future directions in ADHD research and treatment.
