Notes
1. DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is an Obama Administration Executive Order which created interim safe space for children of immigrants born here who needed protection in order to stay and thrive in the only homes they've known. Many essential contributing members of our society are affected by DACA. Right now the leaders in the student government of the community college where I teach are organizing rallies in support of extending or sustaining the DACA Dreamers rights and the students of Berkeley High School walked out yesterday and put their hands around the building in a demonstration supporting DACA.
2. As the coeditor, who, with Dr. Heurkhuti, released the book, Sexuality, Religion and The Sacred: Bisexual, Pansexual and Polysexual Perspectives (Routledge, 2011), I can confirm this with a smile.
3. My experience involved rereleasing a book with a new publisher in 2015, after 25 years in print
