This article is a comparison of six health search engines based on the following criteria to determine which ones yield the best results for consumers: ease of navigation, appropriate type of health information for consumers, and search results derived from authoritative sources. Based on an analysis of the data, there are two consumer health search engines that are excellent in terms of meeting the above-stated criteria.
Data in this article was presented in a paper that received the second place award for Best Research Paper at the annual meeting of the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association.
