ABSTRACT

Library staff at a large cancer center decided to restart in-person programming after three years of having programming shut down by the hospital’s COVID-19 restrictions. This effort began by conducting a survey of the library’s users on what types of programming was desired, along with best format of program, most preferred day of the week and time of day. Once the survey was completed, the results guided staff to begin a weekly program consisting of educational handouts and giveaways. A second, follow-up survey sought to obtain any further ideas or comments by users. Programming began with passive display tables stocked with information and giveaways. Active, scheduled programming began in late 2023.
