Abstract
This literature review looks at various library services for distance students and practices currently in place. The findings show that libraries need to ensure easy access to services for distance students and raise awareness of their existence by using tailored marketing strategies. Appropriate funding, staff training, as well as a sufficient number of dedicated librarians for distance services are also required to create a successful library experience for students. Given the trend of increasing distance education offerings, libraries need to reevaluate their role and recognize that the traditional division between on-campus students and distance students is disappearing.
