Abstract
Due to predetermined materials with continuous inhomogeneity is common in engineering, scattering of a noncircular cavity in continuous inhomogeneous solid medium is investigated in this work. Based on the methods of wave function expansion and complex function, the wave and stress fields in the medium is deduced. By applying the conformal mapping method, the noncircular cavity is mapped into a unit circle. Taking elliptical cavity as a special case, dynamic stress distribution at the interface of the cavity and in the solid medium around the cavity with different typical parameters is calculated and discussed.
