This article refers to:
Allyl methyl sulfide, a garlic active component mitigates hyperglycemia by restoration of circulatory antioxidant status and attenuating glycoprotein components in streptozotocin-induced experimental rats

Concerns were raised regarding the narrow standard deviation (SD) ranges of adult Wistar rat characteristics presented in tables 1 and 2, which are approximately 7-8% of their associated mean.

Upon query, the authors explained that the narrow range is explained by selection and grouping of rats according to high similarity of the corresponding parameters, as well as use of a small population of inbred rats. This selection process was not mentioned in the Materials and Method section of the original publication. The authors provided this explanation to clarify the narrow SD ranges to readers.
