Research Note: PDA Use Is Linked to Dietitian's Work Setting

Pages 280-289 | Published online: 18 Dec 2009

Abstract

The purpose of the project was to determine the use of the personal digital assistants (PDA) by dietitians. It was found that those nutrition professionals (n = 76) who worked in medical centers were more likely (p = 0.049) to use a PDA compared to those in other work settings. Calculation of BMI was the most used PDA software by the respondents. Dietitians have become an integral part of medical specialty areas and teams, which necessitates that instant information. A PDA can provide this information.
