1 In Maryland, a PBJ verdict results in the offender being placed on probation before the judgment is entered. Successfully completing the probation period (often a 1-year period) allows the defendant to have the citation expunged from his or her record. However, committing another offense during the probation period will result in having the original offense reinstated.
