Abstract

The flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is emerging as an important platform for future devices, including micro-channels, organic photovoltaic, wearable electronics, and sensors. However, the stability and homogeneousness of functionality on the PDMS surface influence the performance of the devices. The present paper described a method to achieve the chemically stable and uniform functionality of polyethyeleneimine (PEI) on the PDMS surface and the kinetics of gold nanoparticle adsorption on the PEI functionalized PDMS surface was investigated. This study provides potential applications in fabricating PDMS based high performance devices.
