The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is a component of the Department of Health and Human Services. In an effort to promote health and prevent disease, the CDC reaches out to individuals and communities. The Childhood Overweight and Obesity web site informs, reports data, and provides positive suggestions to help children maintain healthy weights.
