Dr. Thelma Duffey
October 3, 1954 – December 30, 2022
Founding Editor
Dr. Thelma Duffey founded the Journal of Creativity in Mental Health in 2004. Her hope was to provide a resource for mental health practitioners of all disciplines to incorporate creativity into practice. JCMH focuses on exploring diverse creative practices that foster maximum self-discovery, mutuality, relational competencies, and personal growth. Articles examine the application of the expressive/creative arts, as well as the enigmatic nature of the creative process itself. Thelma’s hope was to encourage dialogue among scholars, researchers, practitioners, educators, and students, and to address both the academic and application realms of counseling. The JCMH is only one of many legacies left by this dynamic and innovative leader, educator, and counselor. She will be deeply missed by many.
