Cherenkov radiation in a twist bend nematic

GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

We assume a charged particle moving at constant velocity in a twist bend nematic. We calculate the induced polarization in the cholesteric by the electric field generated by the charged particle. From this we obtain the dominant contributions of the radiation field. We study the contribution happening for a slow velocity particle and calculate the radiated energy versus the parameters of the system.
