ABSTRACT
The UV-curable coatings are emerging as new environmental friendly coating technology for replacement of solvent-based ones. UV-curable polyurethane acrylate oligomers were newly synthesized using cycloaliphatic polyisocyanate and polycaprolactone polyol, polycarbonate polyol or cycloaliphatic polyester polyol, and their cured properties were investigated by differential scanning calorimeter, thermogravimetric analysis and dynamic mechanical analysis. The results showed that the cycloaliphatic polyester polyol-based film showed better properties on UV resistance, accelerated weathering, water resistance and chemical resistance. It might be attributed to its unique structure with 1,4‐substitution.
