Abstract

The articles in this issue, including the introduction, all contribute to elaborating various features of a scientific paradigm shift that has come to define developmental science. In this commentary the author describes the structure of scientific concepts that gives form to this paradigm shift. The author then discusses the contribution of each article in the context of this conceptual structure.
