A Demographic Study of Event Planners

Pages 45-52 | Published online: 24 Feb 2011

Abstract

Events have been part of every society and culture throughout history. Although general demographic information about event planners, such as age, gender, and education, has been collected, either as part of a larger study or as the focus of the research, this is still an area that is lacking. This exploratory study focuses on collecting standard demographic information, such as age and gender, and then delves deeper to examine event managers’ education and years of experience. The data collected in this study can assist in developing and marketing educational offerings to event professionals.
