This paper studies the problem of determining the stress distributions around a circular hole or inclusion in a fiber-reinforced viscoelastic composite plate, which is bent by moment. Using the method of effective moduli makes the reduction of the problem to that of a homogeneous anisotropic material. Numerical computations were carried out to solve this problem and the results show that the stress distributions around the hole or inclusion vary with different parameters. In addition, the dependence of the stresses on the elastic properties of the material of the inclusion, and the variations of the concentration factors with time are investigated. Three cases are considered in which the hole is left empty or filed by an elastic material or rigid inclusion. A special case of determining the stress distributions around a circular hole or inclusion in an isotropic viscoelastic plate subjected to moment at its sides is analytically investigated.
