ABSTRACT

This study examined the relationship between faith match and relationship satisfaction as well as family support of same-sex women couples (N = 80). Relationship length was also investigated as it related to faith match. ANOVA procedures were used to determine the influence of faith match on four different groups of women: (1) same traditional faith; (2) different traditional faith; (3) same nontraditional faith; and (4) mixed nontraditional faith. While faith match did not significantly affect relationship satisfaction or family support, there was a significant relationship between length of the relationship and faith match. Couples who were together longer were significantly more likely to share the same traditional faith.
