Heading for Mars While We Haven’t Been on the Moon: A Reply to Nothhaft

Pages 184-188 | Published online: 10 May 2017

ABSTRACT

In their rejoinder to Nothhaft’s (2016) call for synthesis and consilience, Christensen and Svensson (2017) discuss three points: (1) Science and progress in strategic communication, (2) Materialism, and (3) Reductionism. Instead of aiming for one all-encompassing framework, this response accentuates creative tension between meta-theoretical positions as a possible way to advance the field. Additionally, more rigor and relevance can by achieved by applying reproducibility studies in the field.
