Abstract
A new interesting organotin compound was obtained by reaction of triphenyltin hydride with dibenzoyl peroxide. This compound was characterized by elemental analysis, and its structure was determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction method. Results showed that the compound is a kind of novel composite crystal structure of C36H30Sn2 and C38H30O4Sn2 organotin dimers, which are formed by intermolecular van der Waals forces. It crystallizes in the triclinic space group P‐1 with cell parameters: a=0.9242 (2) nm, b=1.2248 (2) nm, c=1.4511 (3) nm, α=95.73 (3)°, β=95.07 (3)°, γ=94.71 (3)° and V=1.6212 (6) nm3, Z=1, Dc=1.542 mg · m−3, μ=1.570 mm−1, F (000)=736. In the dimer C36H30Sn2 each tin atom is four‐coordination and have coordination geometry of perfect tetrahedron. In the dimer C38H60O4Sn2 each tin atom rendered five‐coordinate in distorted trigonal bipyramid structure by bridging dibenzoyl peroxide O atom. The test of its antibacterial activity showed that it has excellent antibacterial activity. The possible mechanism of the composite crystal structure was suggested.
