A pair of novel dinuclear Schiff base copper(II) complexes, [Cu2(L1)2(MeCOO)2] · 2H2O (1) and [CuBr2(L2)2] · 2MeOH (2) (HL1=2‐[(2‐ethylaminoethylimino)methyl]phenol, HL2=2‐[(2‐isopropylaminoethylimino)methyl]phenol), have been synthesized from an identical synthetic procedure and similar Schiff base ligands but with different copper (II) salts. Each copper (II) centre in the complexes is in a square pyramidal coordination. There exists crystallographic imposed centre of inversion in each of the complexes.
