A novel azide and acetate bridged linear trinuclear Schiff base nickel(II) complex, [Ni{Ni(C12H17N2O)(MeCOO)(μ1,1‐N3)(MeOH)}2], has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and single crystal X‐ray diffraction. There are 3 bridges across the Ni···Ni atom pairs, involving 1 phenolate oxygen atom of the Schiff base ligand 2‐[(2‐isopropylaminoethylimino)methyl]phenolate, 1 O‐C‐O bridge of the acetate group, and 1 μ1,1 (end‐on, EO) azide group. The central Ni atom is located on an inversion centre and has an octahedral coordination. The coordination around each terminal Ni atom is also octahedron. The Ni···Ni distance is 3.086(2) Å.
