Abstract
An exploration of the cadmium-L system under hydrothermal condition has led to the isolation of a novel framework [Cu2(L)(H2O)2]· 2H2O n (H4L = 4,4′ -diazenediyldiphthalic acid). Single-crystal X-ray analyses reveal that it crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /c. a = 17.182(7) Å,b = 6.677(3) Å,c = 8.095(4) Å, β = 90.247(7). The Cu II ions are linked into an extended 2-D rectangle-like structure via L ligands, which represents an attractive four-connected gear topological network.
