Abstract

This study examined operational parameters for the synthesis of barium chromate nanoparticles. The effect of precipitation reaction conditions on the particle size of barium chromate was quantitavely evaluated by the analysis of variance (ANOVA). The optimum conditions for synthesis of barium chromate nanoparticles were proposed. The results of ANOVA showed that 0.1 mol/L chromate ion concentration, 2.5 mL/min flow rate, and 0°C temperature are optimum conditions for producing barium chromate nanoparticles. Also, BaCrO4 nano-superstructures were synthesized with bioactive eggshell membrance as directing and assembly template. The BaCrO4 nanorods synthesized by this method have 125 nm average diameter.
