Abstract
NiO nanoparticles with average particle size less than 25 nm were prepared and employed as an adsorbent for removing Pb(II) ions from aqueous solutions. The influence of experimental conditions, including the adsorbent mass, contact time, pH, and initial concentration of Pb(II) solution, on the Pb(II) adsorption was investigated. The maximum adsorption capacity of the NiO nanoparticles for Pb(II) removal was found to be 62.5 mg g−1, which indicates that NiO nanoparticles can be used as a promising adsorbent for the Pb(II) removal from aqueous solution.
