Abstract
Silica-supported antimony trichloride (SbCl3-SiO2) was found to be an inexpensive and effective catalyst for the one-pot three-component synthesis of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthols in high yields. The main advantages of the present approach are short reaction times, clean reaction profiles, and simple experimental and work-up procedures.
