Abstract
A Schiff base, 2-pyrimidin amine, N-[E-(2,3, dihydro-IH-indol-3-yl) methylidene] (PAM), a derivative of indole, was synthesized and characterized by elemental, mass, IR, and 1H-NMR. On coordination with Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II), Zn (II), formed ML2X2 complexes and anion are Cl,−1 Br−1, I−1, NO3 −1.The complexes were characterized by elemental/ IR, their structures were elucidated by physicochemical techniques. The ligand and its complexes were screened for in vitro antifungal activity against Asperigillus niger, Asperigillus flavs, Helianthosporium solani, Fusarium solani, and Alternial solani through agar well diffusion method. Thermal stability of the ligand and complexes through TGA and DTA was investigated.
