Abstract
With trans-dicyanidecobalt(III) precursor K[Co(salen)(CN)2]· CH3OH (1) (H2salen = N,N′-bis(salicyl)ethylenediamine) as build- ing block and two Mn(II) compounds containing bulky anci- llary organic ligands as assembling segments, two new cyanide- bridged heterometallic CoIII-MnII complexes {[Co(salen)(CN)2]2 [Mn(bipy)2]}·2CH3OH (2) and }[Co(salen)(CN)2]2[Mn(phen)2]}· 0.5CH3CN·0.5H2O(3) have been successfully synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and X-ray structure determination. Single X-ray diffraction analysis reveals the trinuclear V-shaped CoIII 2MnII nature of complexes 2 and 3 comprise one [Mn(bipy)2]2+/[Mn(phen)2]2+ and two [Co(salen)(CN)2]− units. Interestingly, under the help of intermolecular C-H…π interactions, both of these two complexes display two dimensional supermolecular structures.
