Abstract
An unprecedented complex, namely, [Cu(L2)2] (HL2 from the designed ligand, N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N’-benzoylthiourea (H3L1)) (1), has been obtained successfully from the reaction of Cu(NO3)2 . 3H2O and H3L1 in methanol-water solution. Its crystal structure, IR, and thermal properties are described. Also, the reaction mechanism has been proposed.
