Abstract
The preparation, structural characterization, and luminescence investigation of a new six- and eight-coordinative Cd(II) metal–organic framework of formula {[Cd3(bta)2][Na2(H2O)6]}n (1) (H4bta=1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid) is reported. The 3D structure of 1 consists of bta-bridged trinuclear Cd(II) where six oxygen atoms of four (η1, η1 ,-μ2) and one (η2, η2 ,-μ4) carboxylic groups and eight oxygen atoms from four (η2, η2 ,-μ4) carboxylic groups complete the six coordination and eight coordination environments around Cd1 and Cd2, respectively, in which is entrapped with [Na2(H2O)6] unit. Furthermore, the luminescence is also discussed.
