Abstract
Nickel-doped tin oxide nanoparticles (Ni-doped SnO2) have been synthesized with the average size of 25 nm. The structural and compositional analysis of the prepared catalyst has been carried out by using XRD, XRF, TEM, and FT-IR. The prepared nanoparticles have been evaluated for their catalytic activity in the three-component reactions of aldehdyes, amides/urea and 2-naphthol at 100°C. The reaction results in the synthesis of a variety of 1-amidoalkyl-2-naphthol derivatives in high yields and catalyst can be recovered and recycled without a significant loss in the catalytic activity.
