Abstract
A new dioxomolybdenum(VI) complex, [MoO2L], where L is the dianionic form of N,N′-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)-1,3-diaminopropane (H2L), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectrum, and single-crystal X-ray determination. The crystal of the complex is triclinic: space group P 1, a = 9.1630(4), b = 9.7986(4), c = 10.9257(5) Å, α = 73.062(1), β = 72.329(1), γ = 75.002(1)°, V = 878.37(7) Å3, Z = 2. The Mo atom in the complex is coordinated by two phenolate O and two imine N atoms of the Schiff base ligand, and by two oxo O atoms, forming an octahedral coordination. Thermal analysis of the complex was performed.
