Abstract

A new Cu(II) coordination polymer, namely [Cu4(TDC)4(phen)2 (H2O)6]n·2n(DMA) (1 H2TDC = 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylic acid, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, DMA = N, N′-dimethylacetamide), has been successfully synthesized under solvothermal conditions. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that the crystal belongs to triclinic crystal system, P-1 space group. In the complex, TDC ligands bridged Cu(II) ions into a zero-dimensional (0D) structure under the synergy effect of phen ligands, in which there contains a paddle-wheel shape [Cu2(COO)4] unit. Finally, these 0D structures are further extended into a three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular framework through intermolecular hydrogen bonds and interactions.
