Abstract
A new coordination polymer {[Zn(bpdc)(bib)]·2H2O}n (1) (H2bpdc = biphenyl- 4,4′-dicarboxylate and bib = 1,3-bis(imidazol-1-yl)benzene) has been prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR, and EA. Complex {[Zn(bpdc) (bib)]·2H2O}n (1) is orthorhombic, space group P212121 with a = 8.067(4) Å, b = 11.694(5) Å, c = 25.916(5)Å, β = 90°, V = 2444.8 (19) Å3, Z = 4, Mr = 551.85, Dc = 1.499g/cm3, F(000) = 1136, and μ = 1.055 mm−1. The final refinement gave R = 0.0326 and wR = 0.0859 for reflections with I > 2σ(I). X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the title complex {[Zn(bpdc)(bib)]·2H2O}n (1) shows a twofold interpenetrating framework. Furthermore, the luminescent property of complex 1 is investigated.
