Abstract

Rod-shaped La2O3:Eu3+ nanocrystalline has been successfully synthesized by a facile solvothermal method using carbon nanotubes as removable templates. The obtained materials were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and fluorescence spectrophotometry. The different size of rod-shaped La2O3:Eu3+ were synthesized after CNTs/La2O3:Eu3+ composites calcined in air at various temperatures. It is very interesting to discover that the composites show a increase in the fluorescent intensities with increasing calcination temperature.
