Abstract

The title complex [Cd·(C7H6N2O4S)·(C10H8N4)]·2H2O(C7H6N2O4S˭N-(pyridine-3- sulfonyl amino)-acetate; C10H8N4˭4,4′-bipyridine) (1) has been synthesized by volatilization of solvent at room temperature, and characterized by elemental analysis, thermal analysis, and single-crystal X ray diffraction analysis. Complex 1 belongs to the monoclinic system. Space group P21/n with a = 13.667(3), b = 8.6263(17), c = 18.669(4) Å, α = 90°, β = 92.34(3)°, γ = 90°, V = 2199.1(8) Å3, Mr = 544.82, Z = 4, F(000) = 1088, μ = 1.133 mm−1, Dc = 1.646 Mg/m3, T = 293(2) K, Goof = 1.078, R = 0.0315, wR = 0.0895. The center Cd2+ of complex 1 is seven-coordinated. Furthermore, complex 1 by a large number of hydrogen bonds formed a 3-D network structure between layers.
