Abstract
A new Cd (II) coordination polymer with 2-(4-carboxyphenoxy)benzoic acid (H2oba) and 1,3,5-tris(1-imidazolyl)benzene (tib) has been prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR, and elemental analysis. The compound, [Cd(oba)(tib)·H2O]n, is orthorhombic, space group Pbca with a =16.791(2), b = 17.850(2), c = 19.340(2) Å, β = 90°, V = 5580.6(9) Å3, Z = 8, Mr = 662.93, Dc =1.578 g/cm3, F(000) = 2672, and μ = 0.837 cm−1. The final refinement gave R = 0.0263 and wR = 0.0629 for 5094 reflections with I > 2σ(I). X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the title compound [Cd(oba)(tib)·H2O]n displays a (3,5)-connected topology with Schläfli symbol (4.6.8)(4.64.85).
